Infrared Aerial Photography
At LN, we use only the best state-of-the tools and methods to accurately capture data in all of our surveys. Aerial photography is captured using infrared technology and utilizes the infrared spectrum of light to highlight details that might otherwise be invisible to traditional equipment. Infrared photography indicates important details in the geophysical history of a region. These details can include long-term information about the region’s vegetation, pollution levels and the impact of human involvement.
Applications of infrared aerial photos include:
- the capture of custom orthophotos (aerial images adjusted for topographic relief, lens distortion and camera angles)
- the calculation of volume of earth or minerals in specific areas in the area
- the generation of digital terrain models, photo mosaics, DEM compatible images and as-built surveys
- the location of facilities and elements above and below the ground, such as pipes, wires or existing structures
