SAGD Support Surveys
Support surveys conducted for industry-leading oil and gas companies help streamline the process of exploration, measurement and extraction of resources. SAGD (steam-assisted gravity drainage) is an enhanced method of oil recovery that produces heavy crude oil. Steam deployed by horizontal wells in a reservoir is used to lower oil viscosity, allowing for faster drainage and recovery.
SAGD projects use support surveys to:
- locate opportunities to use SAGD technology
- improve existing oil extraction sites
- locate malfunctioning equipment
